While there is a good head of brown trout in all of these medium sized (5-20m) rivers, with the Strule probably being the best for this type of fishing, they are regarded more as sea trout or salmon waters. The Owenkillew would be the best for sea trout with the two best months being June and July. There can be a few early salmon but it is generally from mid to late June to the end of the season that the salmon fishing is best depending on water conditions. Fly fishing, spinning and worming are all allowed and a ghillie service at £50/day can be arranged.
