NOTE — The following are the present arrangements but it is hoped to open a new fishery below Lifford Bridge and prospective anglers should contact the Loughs Agency.
These two stretches of water which are both big (20m+) rivers can provide very good fishing especially in times of low water. They are both affected by the tide and thus will only fish at certain times of the day. There is a plan to develop the Foyle stretch to suit anglers. Spring salmon are the quarry from the start of the season to about the first week of May. From about the third week of May to the end of August sea trout fishing can be very good and the bulk of the grilse arrive from the first week of June to the end of the season. Fly fishing, spinning and worming are the permitted methods. A ghillie service at £50/day can be arranged with prior notice.
