The Mourne is a big river (20m+) which provides excellent fly fishing for salmon and sea trout. This is classic fly water however there is some tricky wading and therefore a ghillie is a must. While there can be the odd early fish it is really from mid June to the end of the season that this beat is at its best and while some fresh water helps attract fish upstream the river can still be productive at lower levels. Bag limits apply and a ghillie is essential and is available at £50/day.
